Big Girl Bed!

This weekend we took down Hailey's crib and moved out all her old baby furniture and moved in the big girl furniture. She had so much fun! Jeff and I were a little worried about whether or not she would sleep well in the bed, roll off the bed, get out of bed...but she did great - she slept normal, didn't fall off, and called me when she woke up before she got out of bed! YEAH!

I must admit - this is all a little bittersweet, I'm so excited for her and it is fun to be able to cuddle up to her in her bed, but it also made me kinda sad to see my little girl in this big bed and think that this will be the bed she grows up in and sleeps in until she leaves our house - I could almost imagine her laying there as a teenager (but we aren't ready for that)! :)

Zoo Day

Today Hailey and I went to the Fort Worth Zoo...we haven't been in awhile since it has been so hot, so now with the nice weather we're hoping to go more! We started off our day with a doughnut and some starbucks and then spent a couple hours at the zoo. Then we ate lunch at Railhead barbeque...Hailey always loves barbeque - but today I think she liked her cheetos more than the barbeque (just like her momma) :)

First Day of Dance Class

Today was Hailey's first day of dance class at Melva Smith School of Dance. Miss Melva let the parents sit in the room for this first class and it was the cutest thing getting to watch all of the girls. Hailey was the youngest in the class but overall she did pretty well. The most important thing was that Hailey came up to me afterwards and said "that was fun"...so that makes me happy!

First Day of School

Hailey's first day of preschool for this year was today. She did well when I dropped her off and seemed happy when I picked her up and they said she had a good day. I asked her if she had fun and she said "yes" and that she did two crafts. I asked her who she played with and what were her new friends names...she said "Analyn"...which is one of her teachers - ha!

Carnival weekend

Hailey went to the carnival 4 times this weekend. We can walk to it pretty quickly from our house so we rationed our tickets and went all weekend. Hailey had so much fun. Saturday night Jeff took her before bedtime and said that when he was carrying her around to ride her rides, she said "you know what daddy...you're my best friend"...just melts my heart! A big adventure she had at the carnival was with the petting zoo...she held a snake, bearded dragon, pet a big turtle and huge python. You'll see in the pics...she wasn't too sure about it, but she kept going back for more.

Getting ready for dance

Today I took Hailey to get all of her dancewear for her first dance class that starts next week. It was so much fun to watch her try on the tap & ballet shoes. Before today, she always said she wants to take ballet...but after hearing the sound of the tap shoes, I think tap is her favorite already. We picked out a leotard and she wore it out of the store...she was so excited (and I admit I am too!) :)

Bye Bye Bebe!

Today was a big day! Hailey said goodbye to her bebe's (paci's). She has loved her paci's so much! This morning Hailey put all her bebe's in a little gift bag for the fairy. Then today we made a strawberry cake...she picked of course. We had a party and put candles on the cake and made up a "bye bye bebe" song. We wrote the bebe fairy a letter and left her a piece of cake along with all the bebe's to take to other babies. Overall Hailey has done well with the adjustment...she cried a little at nap and a little tonight...but not too bad. Hopefully this won't change my late sleeper into an early riser!! :)
